Aristophanes’ WASPS was performed at the New Theatre (the home of the Greek Play until after the 1933 production). 3519 tickets were sold.
The actors’ text and translation sold to audiences was B.B. Rogers, Aristophanes: The Wasps (Cambridge 1897) – Rogers’ translation originally appeared in 1875. The music by T. Tertius Noble (Organist of Ely Cathedral) was published after the production (Cambridge 1897).
